Windows 11 pro upgrade key3/16/2024 Then again, there's always Intel who kept changing the CPU sockets through the years for one made up reason or another. In the Microsoft Store app, search for Windows 10 Pro. On a Windows device, open the Microsoft Store app. Note that Microsoft 365 Business Premium does not include free upgrade rights from Windows 10 or 11 Home to Windows 10 or 11 Pro. To me, it always came across as slimy.ĭon't get me started about how Microsoft screwed the industry forcing their ever changing licensing model on everyone. Select this option for devices that are running Windows 10 or 11 Home. They got dealers on board as they would always tell us "you're going to make a ton of money selling this". Not because there was a huge cost involved on their part, but because they saw it as a huge profit margin for them. ![]() They then started jacking up the price of Windows with every release (started with Windows 95). Microsoft used to sell Windows for $20-$30 (versions 3-3.11) and they would tell us (dealers) that everyone could make easy money selling them. Just used massgravel's script and called it a day. Home and Student is pretty cheap vs a full blown MS Office Suite is like 10x the price. Office is actually like this now that I think about it. Still won't fix people like me that need some enterprise features at home but for the average person? Home is probably fine. The current solution is about the best they can hope for because it brings the OS into the hands of everyone (ie familiarity) but can bill enterprise a buttload of money.Ĭan't get blood from a stone (ie the average user) but you can certainly get money from enterprise.Ī decent compromise is to sell Windows Home or something for $20 and change the licensing to exclude enterprise. Keep it high and no one wants to pay retail for it. Drop the price and enterprise customers have a field day. Before now, the only official way to purchase a copy of Windows 11 was on a USB drive. The prices are identical to their Windows 10 equivalents: Home is 139.00, while Pro costs 199.99. End users are happy because they paid (upwards) of $50 and feel good because they saved $80 but they're getting something that's most likely not legit. PCMag pointed out that Microsoft now sells Windows 11 Home and Windows 11 Pro as product keys on the Microsoft Store. They acquire a bunch of keys illegitimately and sell them for measly or hilarious profits. But we're going this way on consumer (and even professional) versions of Windows anyways. I don't want to Monkey's Paw this shit into having discount licenses because if a product is free, you're the product. It's actually cheaper to purchase an entire computer with Windows on it than to buy a copy of Windows for yourself. No one in their right mind would pay $130 for a license when it's pretty well known that large OEMs can buy it for a song. ![]() ![]() I wanted to support Microsoft for the first time in my life (for a good price since this is red flag DEALS) and everyone just wants me to continue being a pirate.
